The R 1300 RT is built for putting real miles behind you, loaded with gear, sometimes two-up, day after day. Its factory side stand leans aggressively, which can turn muscling the bike upright into real work at the end of a long riding day. This stand lets you dial in the lean angle yourself, adjusting from stock length up to 1 inch longer in 0.25-inch steps, so the bike sits at the angle that matches how you actually load it.
We designed this stand specifically for the RT rather than adapting one from elsewhere in the lineup. It's built to clear the center stand in its longest position, and the enlarged foot spreads the load over more surface area for stable, confident parking wherever you stop. The RT also runs about 100 lbs heavier than the GS, so we changed how the two fasteners secure the lower leg to build in some extra margin for that added weight.
The kick-down peg extends beyond the OEM position for easy access, so putting the stand down doesn't mean hunting around for the factory lever.
